I had a mixed experience at Ponderosa RV Resort. The location by the American River is stunning, but I found the check-in process and the availability of premium sites a bit lacking. The facilities were well-maintained and the staff friendly, but the WiFi was disappointing and the park felt a little cramped with full-time residents.
Rooms

The premium sites by the river were very cramped, making it tough to set up the awning. I had to buy a longer sewer hose due to the distance from the outlet.
Service
6.0
Staff interactions were pleasant. However, I think they could improve communication about site availability.

The resort's beautiful setting along the river is a highlight. But it was far from any towns or attractions, with Roseville being 45 minutes away.
Dining

The taco restaurant on the hotel was a nice convenience. I enjoyed easy access to meals without needing to drive far.
Facilities

The pool was great, and the grounds were clean and recently upgraded. But the WiFi was really spotty, which was frustrating during my stay.

I had a lovely time at Ponderosa RV Resort. The location was great, nestled between Auburn and Placerville, which made exploring easy. While the sites were just okay, the cleanliness of the bathrooms and lodge really impressed me. I would definitely return for the friendly atmosphere.

The RV spots were decent, but not amazing. I had expected a bit more.

Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, although the honey wagon service could use some improvement. The maintenance man seemed a bit lackluster.

I didn't use dining services, but the area has fresh meat options nearby which is a plus. It seemed convenient for campfire cooking.

The lodge and bathrooms were clean and inviting. The swimming pool, however, was crowded and not usable during my stay.

The staff was friendly. but the park seemed understaffed. They made it easy to refill propane, but I faced issues with being blocked in by other vehicles.

The river adjoining the hotel was beautiful. it provided a nice cool escape on hot days. The pizza place across the highway was a pleasant walk away.
Dining

I found a nice pizza place nearby. it was a great little getaway for a meal. However, there were no other dining options available on-site.
Facilities

Most sites had partial hookups, which was acceptable. but I noticed some amenities were closed and tables at the site were warped and unusable.
The bathroom and shower facilities were clean and well lighted.

However, I encountered some issues, like the unhelpful and rude staff and cramped RV sites. Overall, despite some inconveniences, the beautiful scenery made my stay enjoyable.
